There is purpose in your pain. Now, you may not have deserved the suffering you have walked through or maybe it is a consequence of your own doing. One thing is for sure, God can use it!
It's important to point out the fact that you have a choice in what you do with your pain, regardless of how it got there.
Unhealed pain has a tendency to keep you stuck in toxic cycles, distort your perception, and leave you vulnerable to the tactics of the enemy. When left untreated, unhealed pain can harden your heart with bitterness and resentment of the past all while stealing your peace and precious moments in the present. Most importantly, unhealed pain can prevent you from entering into the presence of God.
So, there is a choice to be made. What will you do with your pain?
Pain can be used as a catalyst that brings you into intimacy with God. It has the ability to humble even the most prideful of souls leading you to the feet of Jesus. It can teach you to rise higher with unshakeable faith and trust in the only one who can heal.
You see, it is the Almighty, the Great I AM that is near to the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. It is the Ancient of Days, the one with nail scars in His hands that has bottled up your every tear and the one who bore stripes for your healing.
If you are struggling and in pain, don't allow it to keep you from the one who can comfort you. Choose not to run from it, instead run into the arms of your Heavenly Father. Choose to go into the deep places with Him and allow Him to heal you from the inside out.
When I said there is purpose in your pain, I meant it. It is in the trials of hard times, and desperation that develop character, endurance, and perseverance. You won't find this in seasons of comfort and ease of life. Wisdom and strength are found in times when everything else is stripped away.
Joseph's story didn't end with him being rejected, and coatless looking up from the bottom of a well. Instead, God used his painful circumstances to position him for his purpose and save a famished nation. Choose to trust the Lord with your pain. Allow Him to heal you and don't despise the crushing, it's the crushing that produces the oil!So, don't despise the crushing, it produces the oil!

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
