PEACEMAKER
Strong’s Greek 1518, εἰρηνοποιοί, designates those who actively cultivate and maintain peace. In the sole New Testament use—Matthew 5:9—it appears within the Beatitudes, identifying a distinguishing characteristic of citizens of the kingdom of Heaven.
make peace – a peacemaker, bravely declares God's terms WHICH MAKES SOMEONE WHOLE. See 1515 (eirēnē).
Scripture clearly states that PEACEMAKING is a characteristic of the children of God.
PEACEMAKING will be a fruit that identifies those who have the kingdom of God within.
Questions we should be asking OURSELVES if we claim to follow Christ...
Do I have peace in my own heart?
Do I carry peace to others?
Am I a peacemaker in my words and actions?
As the body of Christ, I believe we all have some work to do. Let's start by examining ourselves and asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to us our own hearts so that He may refine us, making us more like Him.
If you answered no to any of the above questions and lack peace, I want to encourage you with scripture. The Bible tells us not to worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Take some time today in prayer. Examine your heart and tell the Lord what you need. Put down your phone. Remove the distractions and sit with the Lord. Thank Him for the many blessings in your life, and watch your perspective shift as the Holy Spirit reveals Himself to you.
