How You See Yourself Matters

How You See Yourself Matters

How you see yourself when you look in the mirror matters. How you talk to and about yourself matters. Your perception of who you are makes all the difference in how you operate in life, how you maintain boundaries, and the standards you are willing to accept.

You see, your perception of your worth is incredibly important. The truth is, you are more valuable than rubies and more precious than gold. But if you do not believe that, you will settle for far less than you deserve and set yourself up to be robbed of the peace and joy the Lord has for you.

I have ministered to countless women who are struggling, feel stuck, and hear the same repeated lies. The problem is often rooted in not knowing their identity. Somewhere along the way, they became convinced they were anything other than royalty, a daughter of the King.

The quiet, repeating lies in their minds, that they can never measure up, will never be thin enough, smart enough, or beautiful enough, scream louder than the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit within them because those lies have been reinforced over and over again.

One of the most damaging parts of this stronghold is that, most of the time, they are the ones speaking these things over themselves without realizing they have the power to change it.

Not every thought we have belongs to us. We can choose whether to believe a thought or not. We can assess our thoughts and determine whether they are accurate, true, and aligned with the Word of God. If they are not, as believers, we have both the authority and the ability to take those thoughts captive and replace them with life-giving truth that bears good fruit.

Did you know that your nervous system does not distinguish between truth and a repeatedly believed lie? It responds similarly to both. When you continually rehearse the same lies or traumatic scenarios in your mind, those neural pathways can become like a wide-open four-lane highway leading straight to panic and dread, contributing to nervous system dysregulation in the body.

But here is the miraculous news. God created us so beautifully that our minds can be renewed, and it begins with simple, intentional steps. Through practice and repetition, you can form new pathways. Over time, you will not only begin to think differently, but you will also carry yourself differently.

So take note of your innermost thoughts and the way you speak to yourself, because the voice you believe shapes your identity. Your identity directs your actions, and your actions ultimately influence the life you experience outwardly.

Knowing your identity is the key. Once you truly understand whose you are, you will know who you are.

You were never meant to merely survive. You were created to rise in strength, walk in peace, and thrive in your divine purpose.

I believe living with purpose is not just about chasing big dreams, but about learning to walk out simple, biblical truths in everyday life while living in wholeness and healing on this side of heaven.

If you would like someone to walk alongside you in this journey, I am currently opening a few spots for faith-based health and wellness coaching.

Your Next Step

If this message spoke to your heart, take a moment to sit with it.

Many women walk through seasons when past wounds, difficult experiences, or unanswered questions surface in deeper ways. This can make life feel heavy, but it can become an invitation to healing, clarity, and renewed peace.

If this is where you are, faith-based health and wellness coaching offers a space to slow down, seek the Lord, and begin moving with greater strength and steadiness.

You don't have to walk through those seasons alone.

You were never meant to merely survive. You were created to rise in strength, walk in peace, and thrive in your divine purpose.
