Discern Where To Hitch Your Wagon

Discern Where To Hitch Your Wagon

My heart is grieved by the bandwagon mentality that I see in the body of Christ. The subject matter changes moment by moment, and people are getting distracted by all of the noise. Listen... We must learn to discern, think, and research for ourselves, or there is great potential to be led astray. Just because it is popular or sounds convincing with Christian rhetoric does not make it true or your assignment. Just because someone influential agrees does not mean you should. We should concern ourselves more with their fruit than the number of their following. I believe this behavior is rooted in insecurity, rejection, and lack of knowledge due to laziness. It is imperative that we get into the presence of the Lord and learn to hear Him for ourselves. Do your own research, read the Bible, and know the Word of God and what is on His heart. It very well may not be what you have so easily allowed yourself to consume while scrolling on social media. The danger in this mentality is that when you do hear an authentic prophetic voice that disagrees, you may miss what the Lord is speaking through them or worse, attack them because it sounds different from the crowd you have been so easily moved by. My concern is that if we do not get serious about this matter, many in the body of Christ will be so quick to hitch their wagon; if they are not careful, derailment awaits. We are unique in our calling, assignments, and delivery for a reason. You are not going to do it just like someone else, and you are not supposed to. We were all created to be different parts of the body, all unique and all necessary. So, get comfortable with whatever that looks like. Know what you believe, why you believe it, and stand on it. Let us not get distracted, and let us be about our Father's business using wisdom and discernment as to where we hook our wagon.

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
Galatians 6:1 NKJV
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition.
II Thessalonians‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
I Corinthians‬ ‭15:58‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
